When things are investigated, knowledge is extended. When knowledge is extended, the will becomes sincere. When the will is sincere, the mind is correct. When the mind is correct, the self is cultivated. -- Confucius
Politically correct ideals are garbage: true wisdom comes from decades of deep thought and neutral observation. Only a so-called sociopath could ascertain wisdom from this crazy world in a neutral way. Cool thoughts- uncorrupted by modern politics, social norms, or societal ideals- are required for wisdom. Questioning everything, and going against the grain on all universally accepted norms is the path to true intelligence. The Gods notice this.

Hugo Chavez: International Hero

While searching recently for documentaries about 9/11 (for my new page), I kept seeing ads for a doc. about Chavez. One ad said it was the most controversial documentary ever, and that Amnesty Intl. even refused to show it. Must be mighty interesting, I thought. So I finally watched it. In a word: fascinating.

There was a documentary crew in Venezuela and they had already been there for seven months. Then there was a coup, and they were right there for the whole thing. By right there I mean inside Chavez's office.

This film shows how his decision to redistribute some of the oil profits in his country to the poor made the upper class there hate him. They run 3 TV channels there, and the only other channel belongs to the government. It was shocking how all three of those channels were carbon copies of Fox "News" here: constant, ongoing lies and harassment of Chavez was their only purpose. Simultaneously, the American govt. started their familiar process of demonizing him, as they have so many other world leaders that interfere with their oil agenda.

The rich folks organize a coup, and replay a doctored video over and over on their channels to incite the masses. But once the masses get a taste of the new so-called 'democracy', they rebel and over a million of them swarm the presidential palace. Then the truth of the doctored film comes out, and the military- from the lower ranks up- reaffirms their allegiance to Chavez. They retake the palace, and the vice-president barely manages to rescue Chavez in the nick of time. He had been flown to an island, and an American plane had just arrived to whisk him away to the Dominican Republic (one of America's puppet regimes).

The entire film of this illegal coup, its upper class snobs and their attitudes, and their habitual lying, is more than a little disturbing. It mirrors the GOP and their actions here. When will they try the same thing in Washington?

Chavez is obviously a leader of his people, not a coddler of the rich. How many world leaders can that be said about?

Update:

President Chavez died of cancer in 2013 and his vice president, Nicolas Maduro, is now president of Venezuela. He carries out similar policies as Chavez.

American president Obama on 3/15 declared Venezuela to be a "clear and present danger to the United States", obviously as an excuse for future invasion or other military actions. Numerous Latin American nations rallied to support Venezuela and are standing up to american threats and bullying.
